Sandra has a broad range of experience in all facets of the jewelry industry, specializing in insurance and estate appraisals for contemporary and antique jewelry, diamonds, gems and watches. With many years experience providing appraisal assignments to consumers, the jewelry trade, insurance companies, banking institutions, law firms and government agencies, and seeing a need for an accredited independent unbiased gemologist appraiser in Honolulu, Sandra established AGS jewelry appraisal services in 2003.

Independent, unbiased service

AGS is Honolulu’s only independent jewelry appraisal service. Located on Bishop Square in downtown Honolulu. We offer independent and unbiased jewelry appraisal services direct to the general public by appointment. Appraisals are performed while you wait, allowing you the opportunity to watch the process, ask questions and learn about your jewelry and the processes involved.

Home or Office visit service available on request

We also own a portable gemological lab which enables us to perform appraisals at your home, office or bank vault.

Qualifications

Sandra has been appraising independently for more than 25 years. Her professional education and industry affiliations include: Graduate Gemologist, Gemological Institute of America in California residence program (GIA). 1982 Certified Gemologist, American Gem Society (AGS). 2002 Certified Gemologist Appraiser, American Gem Society (AGS) 2003

She has successfully completed the prescribed courses in gemology and appraisal methodology of the American Gem Society and also has completed the requirements to earn the title of Certified Insurance Appraiser. (CIA). Sandra has been employed in the jewelry industry for over forty years. She is a member of The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers and subscribes to a strict code of ethical standards. All appraisals are performed in conformity with USPAP requirements.
