Lesley established Jan Allan Jewellers in Bothwell in 1985, conveniently located just 8 miles south of Glasgow, offering a professional jewellery valuation service.

As a Goldsmith, Diamond grader and Gemmologist, Lesley’s thorough approach and expertise ensures each client is provided with a valuation report which will be fair, fully researched and justifiable.

Valuations can be undertaken for many reasons, including: Insurance, Confirmation of Will or Private Sale.  Discussing your own requirements are essential to guarantee the valuation has all the detail required, for peace of mind and above all, to ensure the completed document is ‘fit for purpose’.

Post loss assessment reports can also be provided in the event of loss or theft.

Lesley’s dedication and attention to detail from the inception to completion of every assignment is her highest priority. An appointment will be arranged for your valuation so it can be given immediate attention in a helpful and friendly manner.  This can be carried out in Bothwell, or if you would prefer, in the comfort of your own home. The detailed valuation document is completed with high quality digital images, and a separate copy is also supplied to pass to your Insurer. Providing insurers with this document at the inception of cover can avoid problems at a later date, should a claim need to be made.

Free item assessment appointments are also available, to identify which items may or may not require a valuation. Lesley loves her career and is incredibly passionate about valuing, she is always happy to chat about your jewellery and help with this process to ensure you are neither under or over insured.  Valuation fees are based on a per item charge so the cost of this service can be agreed in advance.

Qualifications:

BA (Hons) - Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours

FGA - Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A)

DGA - Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A)
